Author Search


To determine what books or audiovisual media the Marquette Libraries own by a specific person whether writer, composer, performer or artist, use the AUTHOR option from the main menu. Type the last name and as much of the first name known.

Organizations can also be authors, such as conferences and government agencies. Type all or part of the exact name of the institution or organization.

Example: national collegiate results in:

If you don't know the exact name of the organization but remember a few key words try searching those in the WORDS search option.

Search Tip:

To find books about an author or organization, use the SUBJECT HEADING option.

These are works about William Shakespeare and his writings.

Author /Title Search

To locate a specific work by an author use the AUTHOR/TITLE SEARCH option from the main menu. Type the author's last name in the author search box, and any known word or words in the title box. This feature is best used when only partial information is known, for example, if only the author's last name is known.

After the you type in the the search terms, click on SEARCH. MARQCAT will display the results:

The top line indicates there are 35 items that have shakespeare as the author and venice in the title.
